The walking octopus

An octopus gets out of the sea and goes for a walk on land. It looks like an alien! If we had no skeleton our appearance would be similar.

Com podem ajudar als nostres fills?

A vegades voldríem donar una mà als nostres fills per a treure el màxim profit del seu treball i no sabem ben bé pe on començar. Aquí teniu algunes indicacions que podeu fer fàcilment a ca vostra encara que no sapigueu gaire anglès. En qualsevol cas no dubteu en demanar una entrevista amb el mestre/a del vostre fill si teniu dubtes.

• Establir com a rutina un horari fix per a dedicar a l'estudi, no només de l'anglès, sinó de qualsevol assignatura.

• Revisar l'agenda per veure si tenen deures o qualque control.
  
  
• Agafar els llibres d'anglès i anar repassant i comentant el que s'ha vist a classe. Aquí podem comprovar el grau d'assoliment del vocabulari i expressions treballades.
  
  
• Practicar una altra vegada els exercicis fets a l'Activity Book o al quadern, per escrit millor. Com que estaran corregits vos poden servir de guia les respostes. 
   
• Si voleu fer activitats extra podeu cercar-ne en aquest bloc o a través del cercador que emprau habitualment (google, yahoo, etc.). Aquestes activitats poden ser específiques per a treballar vocabulari i estructures, però també hi ha lectures de textos (en aquest cas és important comprovar la comprensió per part dels nins), audicions de contes, diàlegs, ..., i vídeos.
  
  
• Practicar les cançons del CD del llibre. Aquestes cançons contenen el vocabulari les estructures que es treballen i és una bona manera d'ajudar a que els nins els fixin i retenguin.
  
  
• Traduir textos, primer de l'anglès al català i després a l'anglès. Les lectures del llibre vos aniran bé i vos serviran per a corregir-los.
  
  
• L'ortografia es pot treballar a través del processador de texts (Word, Openoffice, ...). Basta configurar-los amb correcció ortogràfica automàtica, idioma anglès, i en escriure les paraules ens marcarà les faltes si n'hi ha.
  
  
• Potser necessitareu un diccionari, si no en teniu podeu recórrer a l'enllaç que hi ha en aquest bloc (Interesting links a la dreta).
  
  
• Per acabar, recordau que el repàs ha de ser freqüent i convé repassar no només el tema actual sinó també temes passats per a què no s'oblidi tot el que s'ha après.

TULE'S TREE.

This tree is next to Santa Maria del Tule's church in Oaxaca, Mexico. Its trunk has a diameter of 32 metres and 30 people are needed to surround it. It is more than 40 metres high and more than 2000 years old.

GENERAL SHERMAN.

This tree is a sequoia. It is 83.8 metres high and about 2500 years old. It is in the Sequoia National Park in USA.

METHUSELAH TREE.

This bristlecone pine is 4841 years old. It's the oldest not cloned living organism. It's in Nevada mountains (USA), but its exact location is kept secret to protect it.

If you go to England, you'll have to buy with pounds and pence (or pennies). One pound is more or less 1.14 euros. Here you can see the British coins and some notes. Save the egg

In the Antarctic winter, penguin fathers protect their eggs while mothers go to the sea to feed. You have to keep your egg safe and warm long enough for your chick to hatch. Move your cursor to control the penguin. In this way you can keep your egg warm. Watch out for predators! Then try the next level.
